Orthoceras, also known as Orthoceratites, is a genus of extinct nautiloid cephalopod. Its name is derived from the words “straight horn”, referring to it’s long, conical shell. These creatures roamed the seas during the Ordovician Period (485 million - 443 million years ago). They are the ancient ancestors of ammonites and squid that can be found in sizes ranging from a centimeter to over 14 feet long. Orthoceras are commonly found on a rock matrix, most of the time being limestone. A majority of specimens on the market have been coming out of Morocco, Scandinavia, Sweden, and the Baltic states.

Druzy Crystal is a composition of tiny sparkling crystals on the surface of a rather bulky crystalline body. This type of crystal usually forms over another matrix, but it may or may not be in contact with the matrix afterward. Sometimes they are coated with vapors that are of metallic origin, and this gives the crystals their strong iridescence.

Black Rutile Quartz is a type of quartz that contains needle-like black inclusions of rutile. These black inclusions are fine filaments of titanium dioxide. If we take a deep look into a rutilated quartz, we notice that these black intersecting needles are sometimes arranged a bit like electric sparkes in various directions, and sometimes all in the same direction as if someone had tidied them up.

It is important to highlight that Black Rutile Quartz is also known as smoked or Morione crystal.

Herkimer diamonds are double-terminated quartz crystals discovered within exposed outcrops of dolomite in and around Herkimer County, New York and the Mohawk River Valley. Not actually diamonds, the "diamond" in their name is due to both their clarity and natural faceting - crystals possess double termination points and 18 total faces. Because the first discovery sites were in the village of Middleville and in the city of Little Falls, respectively, the crystal is also known as a Middleville diamond or a Little Falls diamond.
