Jewelry With a Story
Chantek means “beautiful” in Indonesian, and that is exactly what I look for wherever my travels take me—not only beauty in the jewelry, but in the people, traditions, and places behind it.
I’m Erin, the founder of Chantek Designs, a Southern Utah–based artisan jewelry and accessories boutique specializing in sterling silver jewelry, natural gemstones, and distinctive handcrafted pieces curated from around the world.
What began with my love of Bali and its incredible tradition of silversmithing has grown into a collection inspired by the places I visit and the talented people I meet along the way.
Bali — A Second Home
I’ve been traveling to Bali for over 30 years, and it has truly become a second home to me. In 2019, I lived on the island for six months, which gave me the opportunity to experience Bali far beyond simply visiting. Since then, I’ve continued to return year after year and now spend, on average, about four months of each year there.
That time has allowed me to become immersed in the culture and build lasting relationships with artisans and family-owned silver workshops. I’ve also developed a deep appreciation for the generations of craftsmanship behind Balinese sterling silver jewelry.
Many of the sterling silver and natural gemstone pieces you see at Chantek Designs come from these relationships and my continued travels throughout Bali.
The Thrill of Finding Something New
I don’t sit at home choosing jewelry from a catalog.
I travel.
I wander markets, visit workshops, sit with artisans, and dig through trays of gemstones and silver. I still get genuinely excited when I discover a new design—whether it’s an unusual natural gemstone, an unexpected combination of stones, beautiful silverwork, or something I’ve simply never seen before.
That excitement has never gone away.
Many of the pieces I choose are one of a kind or available only in small quantities, which is exactly what I love about them.
My travels have also taken me throughout Northern Thailand, India, and Morocco—where my mom currently lives. Each destination has introduced me to new traditions, craftsmanship, materials, and designs that continue to shape Chantek Designs.
New From Thailand
This year I’m especially excited about a new collection inspired by my travels through Northern Thailand.
I discovered beautiful natural gemstone beads and connected with artisans whose work immediately caught my attention. Those finds are becoming a new natural gemstone beaded jewelry collection for Chantek Designs, featuring beautiful combinations of color, texture, and natural stones.

More Than Jewelry
Jewelry may be at the heart of Chantek Designs, but sometimes I find something on my travels that’s simply too special to leave behind.
That’s how other artisan pieces have become part of Chantek, including stingray leather handbags, wallets, and accessories from Thailand, as well as unique Hill Tribe bags sourced during my travels in Thailand and Bali.
These pieces have the same qualities I look for in my jewelry—craftsmanship, individuality, and a connection to the places and people behind them.

One of the most meaningful parts of Chantek Designs is being able to support independent artisans, small family workshops, and village craftspeople while bringing their work to customers here at home.
When you choose something from Chantek, my hope is that you’re getting more than something beautiful. You’re getting something with character, a sense of place, and a story that can now become part of your own.
